Art Show and Sale Benefits Council for the Homeless Community Voice Mail
The local art community is rallying support for Community Voice Mail, by donating as many as 40 pieces of art that will be on display Friday December 3, 2010 from 2pm-9pm, at 812 Main Street in downtown Vancouver. Art will be displayed with minimum recommended donation amounts. Art pieces are multi-media and include paintings, glass, drawings, sculptures, wood carvings, signed books, and more.
Donations support Community Voice Mail, a free and private voice mail service where those without access to a phone or voice mail can receive messages from potential employers, landlords, case managers, and from family members.
Council for the Homeless also sends voice mail messages with information about free or low cost community opportunities including health care, housing, employment, and of course, art and cultural events. Community Voice Mail is all about connecting people to information and hope.
