What does the National Office do?
The CVM National Office in Seattle, WA launches Community Voice Mail in new communities, leads advocacy and public policy efforts, incorporates innovations in technology, and supports all existing CVM programs.
Our mission is to empower people in crisis and transition by distributing free, personalized 24-hour voice mail nationwide – directly linking individuals to jobs, housing and stability.
How much does it cost to get a telephone number?
Nothing. Our voice mail is free to clients of more than 2,000 agencies distributing numbers in 400 cities/towns in the U.S..
In some cases, people who have reached their goals (for example, housing or finding a job) may elect to keep their CVM number for a while longer. Many CVM agencies will extend this courtesy at no charge. Some may charge a nominal fee – in most cases, this fee will not exceed $10 for 3 months.
Where can I find a local CVM?
The easiest way is to click on our Map of Sites. Then, find the local CVM office nearest you. CALL or EMAIL THEM, and they’ll be happy to help you find a Participating Agency nearest you! (Participating Agencies are the offices that directly distribute CVM numbers in your area.)
